Welcome. I’m glad you’re here.
My name is Rikki Rogers and I am the owner and founder of Redefine Counseling & Wellness. I opened the practice in 2021 with the hope of supporting communication and connection in families. The more I met with clients, the more I realized that a sense of stuckness was very common; a sense that they wanted to make progress but felt hung up on a certain internal issue or barrier keeping them from getting where they wanted to be. Like many of my clients, I struggled as a child and young adult to even recognize what I was feeling, much less communicate it. I ended up angry and knew the anger wasn’t comfortable but didn’t know how to change it or even who I wanted to be.
Every human carries around some form of hurt, pain, or shame. Often, we learn to protect ourselves from being hurt more by turning to anger or isolation or falling into depression or anxiety. Since beginning my work as a clinician in 2015, I have met with kids, teens, adults, moms, grandparents, widow/ers, married couples, and more who struggle to notice their feelings, allow them to be felt, and trust others to support them in their healing. Relationships are complex, but critical to our well-being. My goal is to help clients safely and confidently embrace the vulnerability which leads to true healing from the place the struggles began.
More recently, I have spent time exploring the world of personal finance and how emotions and beliefs about money impact our financial decision-making, especially in relationships. In 2023, I completed certification to become a Financial Therapist (CFT™) and subsequently studied and completed training as an Accredited Financial Counselor (AFC®). I am passionate about helping clients understand their money stories and supporting couples in getting on the same page about shared finances. You can learn more about Financial Therapy here.
